Barges
No one knows why I take pictures of barges, but I do. We will see them along the river for a few more weeks and then the shipping season will end. The river does not freeze over solid near downtown but the locks become inoperable because of the ice. The shipping season ends in October. In mid-march or early April the first barges of next years shipping season will find their way to St. Paul.
