It is going to snow all weekend in the Twin Cities which will be nice because maybe we will have some double digit temperatures for a day. After it snows the temperature usually drops. It would be great if I did not have to go out on appointments but I do. It usually works that way. I have appointments all day Saturday and it is supposed to snow all day. Enjoy the snow rose, stay warm and take care when shoveling snow.

Remember when poinsettias just came in one color, red? Now they come in several colors and there are variations. The plant in the picture looks like someone spilled paint on it.

I just found this sculpture this morning. It looks like it just went in. Located on West lake Street, just across the street from lake Calhoun.

Part of an urban art project that started when a Minneapolis artist had lawn chairs stolen from his back yard. This particular chair site at the South end of the Smith Avenue High Bridge. Many of us have been photographed sitting in the chair at one time or another. This chair faces what is a kind of entry way into the Upper Town nieghborhood and it is meant to welcome visitors.

This photo was taken a few weeks ago. Here in St. Paul the days are getting short, so it isn’t always easy to get pictures in the day light hours. The bridge in the background is the Smith Avenue high bridge, and the stack behind it belongs to the power plant.

Located in front of the House of Hope church on Summit Avenue. There are angels every where in St. Paul.

The transit station in the picture is new and the sculpture lit up for the first time in September. I find it disturbing, or maybe I should say disquieting. I can sere it as I wait in traffic, the disks are lit up and they kind of spin as the colors change. Located on the corner of Kellogg Blvd. and Smith Avenue, check it out.

Sometimes the best pictures are in my own back yard. Most of the leaves are gone, but we have a hedge growing along the South side of our property. No one remembers what kind of a hedge it is, but we remember that it was raining the day we put it in, and that our neighbors helped us plant it. It is dense and thorny. We planted it becasue we thought it looked better than a fence. Have a great day and don’t miss the beauty in your own back yard.
