I keep taking pictures of the Landmark Center in St. Paul becasue it is such a beautiful building. This past Saturday it was opened but almost empty and so I got to wonder around with my camera. I admit I had too much fun. I left to fill some brochure boxes for my listings and ended up spending almost two hours taking pictures. . . but I didn’t forget to fill the boxes.

This was taken from the fourth floor. The atrium is wide open, and the floor below is used for large gatherings. While I was there a couple of people were scoping it out and planning an event.

The fourth floor hallway

This last photo is kind of freaky, but it was taken for a project I am working on that uses only black and white photos.

To both all three of my readers, thanks for stopping by and have a Happy new Year. I look forward to seeing you both in 2008.

The tallest building in Minneapolis the 55 story, 792 foot IDS tower. Beautiful inside and out. Another lucky shot for me form my car. ![]()

The St. Paul public Library. Both warm and quiet. There is a coffee shop on the main level for those who need a little more noise. The picture was taken in the informations commons room on the second floor. The ceilings are beautiful but they have to be taken in color.
Landmark Center was built in 1902 and originally served as the Federal Court House and Post office for the Upper Midwest. In the 1970s, a group of determined citizens saved the building from the wrecking ball and restored it to its previous grandeur. It was on the National Register of Historic Places and reopened to the public as Landmark Center in 1978. Today, Landmark Center serves as a cultural center for music, dance, theater, exhibitions, public forums, and hosts countless special events.
I never get tired of taking pictures of this building. My niece got married in it a few years ago.

The first snow is the prettiest. We shoveled out this morning, and the roads are drivable. The picture is of the Landmark Center in downtown St. Paul. It looks great any season.

Picture taken out the window of the St. Paul, central library. The building it self is amazing but so are the views from the windows. On one side there is a view of the Mississippi River and through this window is a view of Rice Park, and the Landmark Center. The central library is not only beautiful inside and out but becasue it is a library, a federal depositor library even, it has a lot of books in it. Reading a book is a bit different than reading a web site, but I won’t get into that.
